MT is a veteran Horror fanatic and accomplished self-published novelist with 7 books to his name so far. What We Reading sat down with MT to talk about everything from the inspirations behind his work to his hopes of having his work projected onto the big screen!
Thanks for speaking with us, MT! First off, tell us a bit about yourself and what led you to the world of writing.
I wrote my first novel years ago. Before there were computers. It has been a long road but now 7 novels and 3 anthologies later, here I am!
Talk to us about where you get your inspiration for your works of Horror.
Hard to say really. I can look at just about anything and a story begins in my head. For my last novel, “The Wandering Wish” for instance, I woke in the night dreaming about this book.. It really is a compilation of dreams turned to book!
What is the number one goal you want your work to have with readers?
To experience this world of horror, and maybe fall in love, or maybe be scared, every reader is different
What do you think makes you stand out as an author?
That’s easy, just google #nobubblegumvampiresallowed! LOL. In other words, no sparkly foo-foo vampire worlds here…
What would you say has been your biggest success so far?
7 Novels…
If you could go back in time to one book you read for the first time, what would it be and why?
The Vampire Lestat. Anne Rice just spun a tale like no other
What’s one tip you would give your younger self if you had the opportunity?
Start sooner. FIND time to write. Don’t listen to other people.
And finally, what do you hope the future holds for you and your writing?
I believe Casino Agua Caliente will become a movie. It really is a fantastic read and is worthy of such.
Other than that, I just want people to enjoy my books and maybe at times just say… “What did I just read?”
